Starting in June 2024, Dr. Islam began delivering lectures to newly appointed American diplomats assigned to the South Asia region at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the United States Department of State. As an Adjunct Lecturer, he has directly taught over 70 diplomats who have been or will be appointed to the region. Notably, one of his class participants include the next U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, David Meale, underscoring Dr. Islam’s profound influence and expertise in shaping high-level diplomatic thought and policy in South Asia.

  • Provided lectures for the newly appointed U.S. State Department’s diplomats in five South Asina Countries- Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka
  • One of my class participants, Ambassador David Meale, is set to become the next U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh who was Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of the United States in Beijing
  • Apart from that at least 70 American diplomats who will be posted in South Asian countries have been participated and took lessons from my class
